My Chamberlain login: how the student portal actually works
The My Chamberlain student portal is at community.chamberlain.edu. You sign in with your D number — your student ID, written with a leading D — and the portal handles registration, finances, records and announcements. Your actual classes are not in the portal: click Go To Class in the left navigation to reach Canvas.
Two systems, and the confusion between them
Nearly every first-week question at Chamberlain comes from expecting one login to hold everything. It does not. The portal is administrative. Canvas is academic. They are joined by a single link called Go To Class, sitting in the portal's left-hand navigation.
If you are hunting for an assignment, a due date or a grade and cannot find it, you are almost certainly still in the portal. That is not a fault in your searching. It is simply the wrong building.
What the portal dashboard gives you
Once you are in, the dashboard carries your recent activity, a to-do list and a coming-up list. It is a useful summary and a poor substitute for the course itself — the authoritative deadlines live inside Canvas, and people who check only the portal are the people who miss a first submission.
A warning about search results
Search for "Chamberlain student portal login" and you will find a striking number of sites that exist purely to rank for that phrase. They are advertising. The only address worth trusting is Chamberlain's own, and you should never enter university credentials on a third-party site — including one that looks as official as this one is merely trying to be useful.
